The game of Canasta is an easy game to play but when it comes to the experts perfecting at the game, it requires hard work, learning and concentration on the game. Usually Experts have a variety of knowledge on the game, but the best way to perfect at the game is by being practicing and being really fast as the game is fast paced.
Experts should always keep an account of what cards are there in the discard pile. They should keep a note of what cards have been discarded should be noted down in a pad. The game is fast flowing and difficult to remember, so the best way is by noting down every point. Experts should keep a track of the number of points that an opponent needs for a meld. Experts should not bother much about the discarding in the early stages, but rather keep note of the other cards that the opponent is discarding later. Experts have told us that when you are playing try not being lured into putting wild cards on a deck that is discarded. You are only missing your chance of getting a wild card.
Experts should always back their melds. When they have melded a few cards, then it is advisable to lock the pack. Experts should not get nervous while playing the game. And an expert should not be under pressure to meld fast. If he does he will lose. Gambling also should be avoided by experts. Gambling to an extent is fine but raising stakes is dangerous. Experts should perfect themselves by learning to trick. Tricking also will be a good move for the players. You keep lying about the card you have but basically you are persuading the other player to remove his cards. This happens when the pack is mostly locked.
Experts should keep a track of the number of points that an opponent needs for a meld. Experts should try and adapt to the strategy of the other opponents. Experts should always try to be a step higher than his opponents.
